Indonesia has many types of culinary delights from Sabang to Merauke. Even each region has its own special food. One of them is lamongan. Besides being famous for its batik, Lamongan is also famous for its sambal which is named Lamongan chili.
It is really mandatory for friends who have never tried this chili sauce to taste it. It feels super sniff, you know. To make it easier and no need to bother going out to buy better for yourself, let's go. Let's go!

  • 1/4 kg Cayenne pepper
  • 10 Cloves of red chilies
  • 3 Candlenut
  • Paste to taste
  • 1/2 Palm sugar
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 7 Cloves of garlic
  • 10 Cloves of red onion
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Flavoring / powder broth
  • Cooking oil


  • Heat a skillet with enough oil
  • Fry the shrimp paste and remove it
  • Enter the bird's eye chilies, red chilies, shallots, garlic, tomatoes, and candlenuts. Fry using medium heat
  • If it is ripe then mash until smooth
  • Add salt and flavorings. Then mash again
  • Add the Java sugar and shrimp paste then mash until smooth and evenly distributed
  • Sambal Lamongan is ready to be served.
